Broken roller shutter winder: signs of failure
The winder rolls and releases the strap. When it fails, the strap can remain loose or get stuck.
A common sign is that the shutter drops by itself or the strap does not keep tension.
Replacing the winder may solve the problem when the strap and the rest of the system are in good condition.
A photo of the winder and a short description of the fault are useful.
Quick diagnosis before calling
To assess the repair better, it helps to explain the fault and send clear photos of the affected part.
- General photo of the shutter or door
- Detail of the strap, winder, cylinder or lock
- Brief note: will not go up, will not go down, turns badly or is blocked
