Stuck roller shutter: common causes
A stuck shutter may fail because of several parts. The strap may be broken, the winder blocked, fasteners loose or stoppers damaged.
If the shutter will not go up, the problem may be the strap or the connection to the shaft. If it will not go down, there may be a block inside the box.
Forcing the shutter can make the fault worse.
A photo showing the shutter position and the winder helps identify the fault.
Quick diagnosis before calling
To assess the repair better, it helps to explain the fault and send clear photos of the affected part.
- General photo of the shutter or door
- Detail of the strap, winder, cylinder or lock
